The language tab on the CommerceCM menu provides access to the Language Resource Manager, a powerful tool originally created to help multi-lingual merchants localize their content for different languages. After realizing that it had applications for single language sites as well we opened it up to our users.
LRM codes are used throughout the site in areas where it is not practical to provide a WYSIWYG editor. They are used for labels within programmed controls, error messages, and help tips.
The interface reflects that this was originally a tool built by programmers for programmers.
The image below is from a bilingual site. Single language sites are similar.
Quick Stats: shows you at a glance how many of your LRM's are incomplete. Empty LRM's are not a problem and all sites have many LRM's that are not used, or are only used occasionally.
Search Variables: Merchants can search either by the LRM code or by using the text that they see on the page. Search results replace the Variable Table at the bottom of the page. You must hit the enter button to trigger the search. For help finding what LRM codes are on any given page, including empty ones, contact support. You can also refer to your site documentation where we list specific LRM's used on your site.
Data Controller: This allows you to view by category. You will notice in the table though that many LRMs have not been categorized. Underneath the Category filter is a link to a page that allows you to create and edit categories.
